Food Product Certifications

The CAIS works closely with federal agencies and private food and beverage suppliers to monitor export products that must be screened to determine concentrations of certain radionuclides. Following screening, the CAIS will provide a Certificate of Analysis to the manufacturer to verify that the products meet export standards.

The CAIS is now regularly testing samples submitted by commercial producers in the poultry industry for products exported to Russia, that require screening for Cs-137 and Sr-90.
